7 Ways to Become Stress Free Parents

Stress has become a part of our lives and sooner we accept this better it is for us. But if we only knew how much it harms our system, we would shun it like the plague. Stress causes more damage than any infection causing bacteria. Blood pressure, aches and pains, indigestion and accelerated adrenaline that cause palpitation and anxiety syndrome are just a few of the effects of stress.


These symptoms build up over the years and cause other life-threatening diseases. So how do we tackle it? A few simple surefire ways are described below.

  1. Be yourself

Parents do not have to be superhuman and perfect. Climb down from the lofty perch and be natural. The gleeful laughter that greets your slip-ups will prove how much kids want you to be yourself. Tumble down with them when they seem uncontrollable. This will help you and your family to let go and relax.

  1. Get up early

Half an hour of quiet and undisturbed peace in the early morning will be extremely refreshing and relaxing. Yoga, light exercises and deep breathing definitely help in loosening the tight coils of tension.

  1. Spend some time with nature

Take a stroll in the garden or woods. Being with nature is extremely healing. The fresh air, plants and trees have a therapeutic effect. And if you chance on any colorful flowers, it will be even better.

  1. Make a friends circle

Have a rapport with other parents. Opening up to other friends not only relieves stress but also helps you expand your views and share useful information. You will realize that you are not alone and that there are scores of parents with exactly the same problems. Issues can be discussed and very often good ideas for tackling them, come up.

  1. Be positive

Count your blessings and look at situations in a positive way. Okay, you could not fix up the lavish dinner you wanted to impress your family with. Be frank with your kids and postpone it for another day. You will be surprised at the children’s response. They want your love and happiness more than anything else.

  1. Learn to enjoy life

Remember life is not the same. It changes color and texture every minute of the day. Learn to enjoy life. Enjoy being with your children. They are not going to be with you forever. The baby is really a small wonder capable of bringing immense joy to the family. Enjoy the growing up years of your infant.

  1. Be kind to yourself

Make plans. To do’s are very important for the smooth running of a busy schedule both at home and at the workplace. But don’t let yourself become a slave to time tables. If you want to spend some more time on the bed, go ahead and give in. Adjust the spent time in may be having a lighter breakfast. If the house is untidy and you are tired, just put your feet up and let things be for a while. Being relaxed is more important for you and your family.
